On Thursday 5th of November 2017, world ballet day returns!
This is an exciting day for everyone. World ballet day is the collaborative work between 5 major dance companies: Australian Ballet, Bolshoi ballet, The Royal Ballet, National Ballet of Canada and San Francisco ballet. Each of these companies will relay each other in that order for 5h each of rehearsals, ballet class and exclusive interviews for a live broadcast show casing some of the work they are currently working on. It also a moment for anyone who loves to dance to send in videos of themselves of their dance moves (even if it’s not perfect!) with the hashtags #balletnofilter and #worldballetday
This year with The Royal Ballet you will be able to see 3 Benesh Notators live in action from approximately 3pm till 5pm:
- Karl Burnett who is staging « Judas Tree » of Kenneth MacMillan 15.10-15.40,
- Anna Trévien who is helping remount « Elite Syncopations » by Kenneth MacMillan 15.30-16.00 and who set from her own notation score “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” by Christopher Wheeldon 16.35-17.00
- and finally Lorraine Gregory who is notating Arthur Pita’s latest creation “The wind” 16.05-16.35
Do tune in and join us for this special day! However do not worry if you missed it as the best moments of the day will then be available on YouTube as from the next day (or maybe sooner…)
